The purpose of starting the Bahimmat Buzurg Program is that the elderly living in society can live their lives in a normal way like other ordinary people because, in this era of inflation, it has become very difficult to support their family members, so most elderly people who are unable to fulfill their needs.
Depend on other people to make ends meet, be it financial or physical support. This is a very welcome program of the Punjab government.
This program will end the problems of the elderly. Pakistan is a developing country with a large number of poor people. This program is being run only under the Punjab Social Protection Authority.
Punjab Social Protection Authority as an independent and empowered body provides an effective comprehensive social and community protection system to the poorest of the poor.
The assistance given to senior citizens under the Bahimmat Buzurg Program is called Social Pension.

Objective
- Aims of this program is to make senior citizens respectable citizens by providing cash assistance.
- Prevent self-esteem from being hurt by reaching out to other people.
- To improve the livelihood of the poor elderly.
The number of this social pension should be 65 years or more. Women 65 years of age or above are eligible for this generous program. This program is specially designed for senior women. Elderly women will be given Rs 2,000 monthly assistance.
If an eligible elderly woman dies under this program, her husband will be entitled to this pension. So far 2400 million rupees have been given. So far 82000 seniors have benefited from this program.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Bahimat Buzurg Program are as follows.
- The applicant should be 60 years of age or above.
- Applicant must be Pakistani.
- Applicant’s family income is below the poverty line.
