Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) 2023

The Government of Pakistan launched the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) in July 2008 with the main objective of mitigating the negative effects of slow economic growth. At present the prices in the country are increasing very fast.

Prices of basic necessities have soared above 30-year highs and the global financial crisis has had dire economic consequences.

The program aims to transfer cash to vulnerable and deserving women and their families from the poorest households across the country, irrespective of political affiliation and ethnic identity or geographical location and religious beliefs.

Objectives of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP)

The objectives of the Benazir Income Support Program are as follows.

Enhancing the financial capacity of poor people and their dependent family members Formulating and implementing comprehensive policies and targeted programs for the upliftment of disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Reduce poverty and promote equitable distribution of wealth, especially for low-income families.

BISP has all the data on Pakistan’s poorest households.

BISP operates across the country through a network of 385 tehsil offices, 33 divisional offices, six regional offices, and its headquarters in Islamabad.

Vision of BISP

To eradicate poverty and improve the status of marginalized and less privileged sections of society, especially women, through the establishment of Social Protection Unit.

Mission of BISP

BISP is dedicated to poverty alleviation through the use of multiple social protection instruments through a range of social protection programs designed to bring about a sustainable positive change in the lives of permanently disadvantaged families.

BISP is active to register data of various people. In the first phase, unique adjudication desks have been set up at the tehsil level to survey the households that were left out of the survey and to update the incomplete data.

BISP Survey Eligibility

Citizens themselves can check their survey eligibility status in the following two ways.

  1. Through Web Portal Online

You can do your online registration on this website 8171.pass.gov.pk using the information asked for.

  1. SMS Your ID Card to 8171 from Your Mobile.

After that visit your nearest registration center.

Information counters

After entering the center, stand in line in front of the information desk counter. Persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and senior citizens will be given special priority.

On his turn, the officer has to give his or a family member’s identity card. If you have received any message from Benazir Kafalat program then provide that message.

ID Card Screening Process

If a roster update is required in an already surveyed ID card, they will be issued a Survey Update Token.

A new survey token will be issued if the first survey is not completed.

If you have received a letter regarding eligibility in the sponsorship program and have been asked to update the data, in such a case the identity card data of all the married women of the family must be given.

After getting the token, stand in the queue in front of the registration desk and wait for your turn.

At the data entry counter, give your identity card to the data entry officer for all the adult members of your household and the child’s form to the data entry officer. Remember all ID cards should be updated in NADRA records like marital status, widow status or disability registration, etc.

At the registration counter, you will be asked questions regarding family members’ information, education, health, and asset information.

After the Survey

Follow the following procedure after the survey.

The survey completion notification will be received by SMS from 8171 on your mobile number. An eligibility message will be received in Benazir Kafalat program from BISP.

If eligible, you will also receive a letter from the Benazir Sponsorship Program.

If you are not eligible through this online portal then you should visit the Assistant Director and concerned officer in BISP office to know your eligibility and write an application in this regard.

Registration Procedure

Know the eligibility criteria

Following are the eligibility criteria for enrollment of children in Benazir Education Scholarship Program.

  • Children of women actively entitled to BISP sponsorship
  • For admission to primary education, the age limit of the child should be 4 to 12 years.
  • For admission to secondary education, the age limit of the child should be 8 to 18 years.
  • The age limit of the child for admission to higher secondary education should be 13 to 22 years.

Registration Process

In order to benefit from the program, the child should be enrolled in a school or college in any district of the country. Benazir Education Scholarship Program To register the child, the dependent woman will have to go to the enrollment camp or field office.

along with the child along with the following information.

  • Identity card of woman entitled to support
  • Child’s B Form issued by NADRA
  • School admission slip with class information and school name attested by the teacher.
  • Verification of form B from NADRA is mandatory for enrolling the child in the program.
